the_bug_bar_VW_camper_weddings_events_bar4_1600Looking for something a bit different for your wedding… why not add that magic icing on the cake by hiring the incredibly cool Bugbar. A customised VW camper van with a difference, a ‘pop up’ bar serving first class drinks, from fine ales through to classy cocktails, the Bugbar creates that unique experience. An idea conceived through a long love affair of cool camper vans, quality drinks and great music. Since launching in 2013  the Bugbar has been featured at bespoke weddings, most major festivals and served the likes of super band Little Mix.
The latest edition to the Bugbar fleet is the cooler than cool DJ Booth with a hydraulic lifting roof, mirror balls and state of the art sound system, a mobile disco, literally on wheels – the DISCOBUG.
The man behind the BugBar is Brighton based entrepreneur Justin Wagner. His background includes running the infamous Bar Vinyl in Camden London, (the first dj bar of it’s kind in the UK with a café and a record store in the basement), he went on to set up and run the award winning independent record label Finger Lickin’ records, home to the likes of The Plump DJs and Krafty Kuts. Now he has combined all his experiences in music and hospitality to present this exciting, unique and multi functional Bugbar business.

“I first came across the idea of converting a VW into a bar when I was in Bangkok…I loved the idea and finally in 2013 we launched the concept in the UK, we have expanded fast and now have three units. People love the idea, It’s something about the nostalgia of a VW campervan which resonates with so many people”

The Bugbar team specialises in making awesome cocktails, from the mighty popular Mojito, (Havana Club Rum, lime, mint, sugar, toped with soda), the Bramble (Speciality Gin, Cassis, lemon juice, with a dash of soda), or perhaps the Espresso Martini to give you a caffeine boost (Absolut vodka, a shot of espresso, & Kahlua – shaken on ice) – just a few examples of what the experienced bar staff serve up.
The Bugbar itself doesn’t drive, it is in fact a trailer unit made from the mould of two split screens (no VW’s suffered in the process), so no rust, tax or MOT’s – Brilliant! Decorated and inspired by trips to Asia, the fleet includes ‘The Duke’ (red & creme), ‘Shiva’ – the Disco diva and Ellie (Red & creme) the traditional English Bug…
